I started a painting yesterday based on a photograph I saw online. The photo depicts a physician being comforted by a nurse. The physician is distressed and terribly sad after losing a corona-virus patient. The location of the hospital is Cremona, Italy - in the Lombardy region of Italy - an area that has been particularly hard hit by the pandemic. The tragedies depicted and implied by this picture generate profound sadness in me while working on the painting. But I make myself remember that these are the true heroes and heroines in our world today. The photo here shows the first day block-in. The canvas is 24x36 inches and I'm working in oils. Thanks.
